About Hecate.
A small, non-commercial index of recommended videos, articles, papers, podcasts and books.
Why
Recommendations get lost in group chats, and feeds optimize for engagement. This library is the opposite: a short, tagged list that people trust because someone they know vouched for each entry. Anyone can browse and propose links without an account. A trusted group of curators reviews every one.
01
Charter
- No ads, no tracking, no paid placement.
- We judge documents, not people. Proposers stay anonymous, and we store no personal data.
- Nothing appears until a curator approves it. Every rejection is public, with a reason.
- We store a link, a title, a short description and tags. We host no content.
02
What we accept
Links to pages: an article, a video, a paper's page, or the page for a book at a publisher, library or bookshop. Paywalled pages are fine if the page itself is legitimate.
We reject direct links to files, such as a book's PDF, and any link to a pirated or unauthorized copy.
03
Privacy
This site sets no cookies for readers, runs no analytics, loads nothing from third parties, and works without JavaScript. The server keeps no access logs and stores no IP addresses.
Rate limits count a salted hash of your address, kept only in the server's memory and never written to disk; the salt changes whenever the server restarts. Outbound links do not tell the destination where you came from.
